Start saving your money!!! The Big (D)esign Conference 2010 will have a large bookstore, which complete your UX Book Club selections for the rest of the year. Fanboys and Fangirls unite…..we are also going to ask several of authors to sign their books. You’ll find the hottest books, too. We asked the authors (Bill Scott, Susan Weinschenk, Theresa Neil) about who they read. We talked to the Dallas UX Book Club and asked two other books clubs to determine their selections. After last year’s Big (D)esign Conference, we sent out a survey. You told us that you wanted some workshops throughout the year. Last August, we started a quarterly training series for you. We have had three workshops with more to come. We have used all the money collected from these workshops to go straight back into the community. These workshops have raised almost $10,000!!! (At cost from $25 to $100, we see alot of you there.) Brian (@BrianKSullivan) has ran two workshops: one was on creativity and the other was a Usability Boot Camp. To give you an idea of the caliber of presentations to expect. I wanted to show off the opening plenary from Norm Cox from last year. It was called ”Confessions of a Design Therapist”. Norm gave this presentation to a packed house in the theater at SMU’s Hughes-Trigg Student Center. Norm always teaches me something new, whenever I hear his talks. Plus, he is such a great gentleman.
