Sweat. Agonize. Offer up best effort. Get shot down. Repeat. Why won’t your product owner, manager, or whoever that business person is, sitting there destroying the very advancement of the Internet, LISTEN??!! Answer: You aren’t speaking the same language, or even playing the same game.

Just like you don’t have to know the whole language to order a drink or find the bathroom in a foreign country, a few key phrases and well placed tactics will go a long way towards moving your business stakeholders in the direction you want them to go. And when that doesn’t work, knowing what your product owner really wants will help you get your way.

What You Will Learn:

  • What are the real objectives of every product owner (they aren’t always what you think)
  • The words and phrases that make a product owner listen – or tune you out.
  • Communication tactics that will have business ‘bought in’ to your design before it’s even completed.
  • How to divide and conquer when there are multiple business players involved in a decision.
  • Discover and use allies who you may not have even thought of.
