Speaker Spotlight: Traci Lepore and the Director’s Chair

traci-leporeWhat does directing have to do with UX process? We know a director is responsible for strategic vision. But, did you know the Director is also responsible for ensuring a successful outcome that both meets their own vision?  Did you also know it must be in line with the Producer’s desires and budget? To make that happen, a director works with the cast, crew, costume and set designers, and many others to pull together a cohesive product, without losing the vision.

From a UX perspective, let’s just change a few words here.  Change the Director to UX Lead and the Producer to Business Owner.  The rest of cast and crew of your UX project the designers, product managers, marketers, and developers. Starting to sound familiar?

If so, then join Traci Lepore as she walks you through the key responsibilities of the Director and how you can use them on your next project.  You will learn about:

  • Deciding the kind of director you will be
  • Defining the vision
  • Keeping the vision on track throughout the process.
  • Learn how successful directors stay on task
  • How to coordinate and orchestrate the moving pieces.

William Shakespeare famously wrote in his play, As You Like It:

All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts..

You will laugh.  You will cry.  That’s life when you play the part of a UX Lead (or Director).  All the world is your stage!  You will enjoy this fun-filled talk!
