A Letter from Molly Holzschlag

I’d wanted to take a moment to extend my gratitude to everyone involved with Big D, so many of you who have supported me during some very dark hours of my life. I don’t know there are words more than thank you, but I do want to make at least a short attempt at letting you know what your support has done for me.First, I’m still alive. Considering what happened during my treatments last year, without the ongoing quality insurance that the MollyFund has paid for, I wouldn’t be. Second, I’m one of the very few people in the United States to have been approved in time for a very expensive treatment that is working on the underlying problem and that of itself is well under control, allowing my blood to strengthen on its own.
That’s the good news. The not so good news is the devastation left by the disease. I now am on a higher treatment dose, which is making me very ill of course, and I will have to continue that for the remaining months as they begin to look for Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) and continue working on my blood in hopes anything that appears can be dealt with aggressively.
Unfortunately, aggressive treatment is only available with the kind of insurance I have today. While I am speaking with an attorney currently as to disability coverage, the reality is if that happens I get dropped into Medicaid. Here in Arizona, the only options available are transplantation, which is against my ideologies at this point in my life.
So I still need your help, because I’d like to be with you this time next year, and I mean right THERE with you, dear friends.
The only words that can with some simplicity express my ongoing gratitude to all of my friends and colleagues far and wide are simply this: Thank You. I LOVE YOU!
Now go have some Big Fun!
Love,
Molly
Molly, we love you, too! In the coming weeks, I will be setting up another Molly Fund. I hope you join us in this endeavor. I hope to see Molly at the conference. I hope to see Molly cured. I hope to see Molly at Big Design. Most of all…..I hope!
