Big Design Speakers Donate $2,5000 to DCAC
The Big Design Conference is a non-profit organization in North Texas with the mission of supporting the design community through education, professional development, and community service. We set aside money each year to support the community, including:
- Community events (ex: World IA Day, Dallas Give Camp)
- Non-profit organizations (ex: shelters, food banks, voter registration)
- Relief efforts (ex: hurriance relief, flood relief)
At this year’s conference, we threw our support behind the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC).
What is DCAC?
Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) is one of the first children’s advocacy centers to be established in Texas, which now has over 70 centers of varying sizes and scopes of services. In 1991, DCAC opened its doors and today it serves over 6,500 children and their non-offending family members each year.
Here is an infographic that explains the reality of what the DCAC mission.

At the conference, we gave the DCAC organization a free booth in the Big Design tradeshow. We asked the Big Design participants to give toys to help out with their annual holiday drive. Plus, people could learn how they could volunteer at the DCAC.
Big Design Speakers Donate Big Time
Each Big Design Conference speaker receives a $100 speaker honorarium for all their hard work preparing and presenting their talks. Speakers were given three choices: accept, waive, or donate to the DCAC.
The Big Design 2019 speakers donated big time!
We are happy to report that the Big Design speakers donate $2,500.00 to the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC). This donation will go a long way to help with the toy drive and other relief efforts of the DCAC.
