Sense-Making in Digital Spaces: Site Structure, Taxonomy, and Navigation for Many Audiences

Kavita SinghKavita Singh works in the interdisciplinary field of web strategy at NVIDIA.

She leverages principles and practices from information architecture, content strategy, interaction design, UX research, digital marketing, and content management to help consult and collaborate on projects and initiatives for creating great web experiences.

Imagine you have to design a site for many audiences, so people can feel empowered. They know where they are, where to go, and what to do.

Kavita describes her talk, Sense-making in Digital Spaces in this way:

Serving many unique audiences in digital spaces has necessitated the integration of information architecture and content strategy. This presentation describes the process we went through to go back to the basics of audience, language, identity, and taxonomy to give users a sense of place and purpose on NVIDIA.com. The deep internal work also helped us to not only convey a single clear picture to the outside world in our site structure and navigation, but also provided an internal framework for how we organize and enable findability for future decisions.

Building a future legacy (which is this year’s conference themes) requires the integretion of information architecture and content strategy. Successful companies in the future will bridge this content gap.

We highly recommend this talk to everyone.
